Robin Williams’ funeral brings family, celebrity friends to honor beloved comedian’s life.
Billy Crystal, Bonnie Hunt and Whoopi Goldberg spoke during the service at the landmark Curran Theatre, as did William's wife Susan Schneider, 50, and three kids Zak, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22, a source close to the actor told the Daily News.
Billy Crystal opened the “Celebration of Life” with a tearful tribute at the landmark Curran Theatre in San Francisco, a source inside the service told the Daily News.
Bonnie Hunt, Bobcat Goldthwait and Whoopi Goldberg also spoke, as did William’s widow Susan Schneider, 50, and his three kids Zak , 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22.
“It was a true celebration from beginning to end. It was emotional, but it was also filled with incredible laughter,” the source said.
”Whoopi told an amazing anecdote about when Billy, Robin and she went to Washington D.C. to meet Ted Kennedy. It was something about Robin saying, ‘Okay, if Ted says he’ll drive, let’s regroup,’” the source said. “Whoopi could barely get through it she was laughing so hard.”
Williams’ three kids went up on stage last and spoke individually.
