Nuclear worries stop Intel from selling chips to Chinese supercomputers.

Intel and Nvidia have been blocked from selling chips to four Chinese supercomputer centers because the U.S. government has determined those computers are used for "nuclear explosive activities." TianHe-1A and TianHe-2 are among the world's fastest supercomputers. They both run almost entirely on Xeon processors made by Intel. TianHe-1A also uses chips from Nvidia.

Aliko Dangote Aliko Dangote (-$10.3 billion) 2015 Net Worth: $14.7 billion (#67 overall) 2014 Net Worth: $25 billion JONATHAN’S REIGN MAY SOON END: He faces a surprisingly strong challenger in this month’s presidential election, and Boko Haram’s unchecked bloodshed is at least partly to blame. The insurgents have killed an estimated 20,000 people, displaced more than a million and now control some 20,000 square miles within Nigeria. Jonathan’s opponent–a retired army general–is seen by his supporters as the best man to finally defeat the terrorists.

Aliko Dangote lives as you might expect, given he’s the richest person in Africa and resides in the same country being bullied by the insidious Boko Haram terrorist group, which finds something noble in kidnapping village girls. Located on Victoria Island, a wealthy Lagos enclave that has a moat in the form of a lagoon and the far eastern shores of the Atlantic Ocean, his mansion comes with all the trimmings: massive black gate, bulletproof windows, Big Brother video surveillance, guards and a secret entryway.

'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Is Definitely Heading Back To The Future.Paul Tassi

Image
Paul Tassi I’m going to take a moment to blow my own horn by recapping that on Wednesday I wrote a lengthy piece detailing why it was inevitable that the next Call of Duty installment in 2015 was going to be Black Ops 3, rather than some other sub-franchise like World at War 2. Less than 24 hours later, Black Ops 3 was confirmed in a quasi-viral campaign promising a full reveal later this month. Naturally, I’ll be taking full credit for this, as surely Activision read my article and said “Well, that Paul Tassi is so widely respected and trusted that everyone will read that article and simply know what’s coming. We better just confirm it.” And so we have our reveal.

Bloomberg's Former Head Of Mobile Oke Okaro On How Smartphones Will Fuel Innovation In Africa 2.

Image
Oke Okaro What does mobile expansion mean for Africa? New businesses and industries are going to be built entirely around mobile devices. In the U.S and Europe, the web was built around desktop users and 99.9% of the digital properties today are desktop companies which support mobile. In Africa, it will be the reverse with mobile leading the way and this is where the breakthrough innovation is going to come from. This is why I’m convinced that a large proportion of the most innovative digital companies of the future will come from Africa.

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress. He said the action flies in the face of his personal commitment to post-election peace, unity and national stability. Jonathan made his position known in a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati. Abati said as the nation prepared for Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly elections, Jonathan called on all Nigerians to remain peaceful, united and law-abiding.

UK enters final month before elections, risk of fog.

Image
The one month countdown to Britain’s parliamentary elections kicks off with few firm predictions. Two things are certain: who will get the prime minister’s job is a contest between the incumbent David Cameron and opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband; the other sure thing is that the election won’t produce a one party government, since neither the Conservatives with Cameron nor Miliband and Labour are tipped to win an absolute majority, so governing will mean forming alliances, of two or maybe more parties.

BACKTHROW:Will Martin O’Malley be Hillary Clinton's undoing in 2016 presidential race?

But the former governor of Maryland and potential 2016 Democratic candidate for the White House was defeated by a far less well-known opponent than Barack Obama – he lost a bid for the Maryland state Senate in 1990 to an incumbent named John Pica. Pica bragged in an interview last month that he “whupped [O’Malley’s] ass” in his north-east Baltimore district. The now long-retired state legislator then admitted “I like to think it was 44 votes, he says it

America Already Has a Manhattan Project for Developing Cyber Attacks.

Image
Getty Images “What we really need is a Manhattan Project for cybersecurity.” It’s a sentiment that swells up every few years in the wake of some huge computer intrusion—most recently the Sony and Anthem hacks. The invocation of the legendary program that spawned the atomic bomb is telling. The Manhattan Project is America’s go-to shorthand for our deep conviction that if we gather the smartest scientists together and give them billions of dollars and a sense of urgency, we can achieve what otherwise would be impossible. A Google search on “cyber Manhattan Project” brings up results from as far back as 1997—it’s second only to “electronic Pearl Harbor” in computer-themed World War II allusions.
