You’ll need these apps to get started
The S6 and S6 Edge (if you’re lucky enough to get the one available Edge unit) come pre-loaded with a lot of apps. Clearly, what you need to sort that out is more apps. Specifically, apps that enhance the phone’s best features. From showing off the screen with a visually stunning game like Monument Valley, to finding the nearest wireless charging spot with Powermat, you can make the most of your new phone with my list of essential Galaxy S6 apps.

There will be a third Galaxy S6 with some added features
There’s likely to be a third Galaxy S6 coming out in the near future called the S6 “active”. Samsung has form here. It has released an active version of its flagship for the the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, which are typically more rugged than the main flagship. Rumours have circulated that the S6 active will have a much bigger 3500mAh battery and a waterproof casing. A rumour from SamMobile earlier this week suggested that it might also include a micro SD slot, which would appease die-hard Samsung fans.
It bends
It may be of no surprise to you that the S6 and S6 Edge bend under the right amount of pressure, which gadget-insurance company SquareTrade explained to the world in a bend test video earlier this week. Naturally, Samsung responded angrily saying it won’t bend under “normal pressure” and can withstand 81 pounds of force without damage. Which is fair enough. The issue is, Samsung took a swipe at Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus bending problems when the Korean company launched the S6 last month. And now it looks a bit silly.
Which should you buy?
Chances are that the limited amount of available Edge handsets may have already made your decision for you if you’re an early adopter. For those that can wait, however, there’s a small choice between the two to make. Namely battery size and the obvious curves, which provide little extra functionality as Forbes’ Ian Morris explained in his S6 Edge review. Check out my 5 best reasons to buy the S6 and S6 Edge here, and Gordon Kelly’s detailed versus breakdown.
Samsung turns to James Corden to sell the S6
Whilst James Corden slowly wins over the US with his new talk show The Late Late Show, Samsung is looking to capitalise on his rising fame by drafting him in for a new S6 advert. Yeah, it’s a bit cheesy and the jokes are a bit flat but overall it’s a playful and inoffensive 59 seconds. Which can’t be said about Samsung’s previous efforts at advertising its products.

forbes.
