Happiest countries in the world.

Friday marks the third annual International Day of Happiness. It's a global initiative started by the United Nations that focuses on happiness as a sign of progress in countries in addition to economic growth.
Not feeling very happy?
You may want to plan a visit to Denmark. It's the happiest country in the world, according to the most recent World Happiness Report prepared for the U.N. by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, an organization of global researchers.

The 2013 study took into consideration aspects such as economics, life expectancy, social support, freedom to make life choices and perceptions of corruption to rank the happiest countries in the world.
The study concluded the top 5 happiest countries are:
1. Denmark
2. Norway
3. Switzerland
4. Netherlands
5. Sweden
In 2012, the U.N. General Assembly adopted a resolution to observe the International Day of Happiness on March 20, which this year also lands on the first day of Spring. The first observance took place in 2013.
