The board, members and management of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) have received with shock the news of the passing on of veteran journalism, Dimgba Igwe. Until his death, Igwe was the vice chairman of The Sun Newspapers and co-founder of Entertainment Express.
Reacting to his death, the chairman of COSON, Tony Okoroji, said, “I was out of the country when the news of the passing on of Dimgba Igwe hit me. I have been a great admirer of this man of tremendous talent who never flaunted it. From his days as Mike Awonyinfa’s deputy at Weekend Concord to being co-author with Mike on different publications, I always admired Dimgba Igwe’s exceptional gifts, work ethic and dignified carriage.
“Some years ago, I had issues with The Sun Newspapers over publications that I disagreed with. It took the painstaking crisis management skills of Dimgba and the good nature of Tony Onyima and Mike Awoyinfa for the issues to be resolved amicably and for the organizations we led to continue to positively collaborate on different projects.
